Ian has a Masters Degree in Advanced Litigation from Nottingham Law School and a Law Degree from Sheffield Hallam University. He joined Irvings in 1998 and is now a Director and has been either a Partner or a Director for in excess of fifteen years.
Ian’s areas of expertise include all aspects of personal injury work, including fatal accidents, as well as heading up the Professional Negligence Department. Ian is supervising the running of the Data Breach Department and will play a lead role in the group actions.
Ian’s hobbies include spending time with his family, reading, supporting his favourite football club and walking his dogs.
Matt is one of our leading data protection breach solicitors and studied law at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated with a first class Honours’ Degree in 2013. Since qualification, Matt has developed his legal knowledge in numerous areas of law including actions against the Police and Data Breach Law. Since joining Irvings in 2018, Matt has taken a lead role in developing the departments of Actions against the Police and Data Breach and now heads up the latter. He has settled a number of Data Breach Claims against high ranking companies and is taking an active lead on a number of group actions.
Matt was raised in North Wales and has since moved to live on the Wirral. In his spare time Matt mainly loves watching and going to the football as well as other sports.
Yvonne studied law at Sheffield Hallam University and graduated in 2011 with a 2:1. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Manchester. Yvonne joined Irvings as a Trainee Solicitor in February 2019 and qualified as a Solicitor in February 2021. She has a background working in the industrial disease and financial mis-selling sectors. Yvonne has continued to develop her litigation skills and currently manages a caseload of data breach claims, claims against the police, mortgage mis-selling and undisclosed commission claims.
Outside work Yvonne can often be found in the Lake District, demonstrating her hobby of Bobbin Lacemaking at county shows and historical venues or hiking in the fells and around the lakes. Yvonne also enjoys knitting, crocheting and socialising with her family and friends.
May obtained her Bachelor of Law (with Honours) from Manchester University and her Legal Practice Court (with Distinction) from The College of Law in Chester.
She has been with Irvings since she commenced her Training Contract in 2011 and has served as Chair of The Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division, received a Liverpool Law Society Muir Matthews Award in 2015 on the basis of her contribution to The Law Society.
May enjoys travelling and seeing the world. Her other hobbies include socialising, Formula 1, playing the piano and amateur photography.
Damien attended Queens University in Belfast, graduating in 2006 with Bachelor of Law Degree (Hons). His Legal Practice Certificate was obtained the following year from The College of Law in Chester.
Damien has developed extensive litigation experience over the years. This includes dealing with a wide variety of cases, including personal injury, data breach and professional negligence cases.
In his spare time, Damien enjoys reading, going to the cinema and keeping fit. Damien also likes spending time with his young family and travelling.
Michael studied Law (LLB) at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating in 2008, and completed his LPC at JMU in 2015. During this time Michael worked as a paralegal dealing with fast track personal injury claims.
Before joining Irvings Law to complete his training contract, Michael had over seven years’ experience in Civil Litigation which includes Road Traffic Accident claims, Employers Liability and Public Liability claims. He also has experience in data protection breach claims and has run a number of Multi-Track matters.
In his spare time Michael likes to travel, spend time with friends and family and attend concerts.
Lee obtained a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of York and then studied for two years at the College of Law, completing a Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course and qualified as a solicitor in November 2010. He has over 10 years litigation experience including obtaining compensation for personal injury, breach of personal data and negligently installed cavity wall insulation.
Lee likes to attend comedy and music gigs and the theatre. He is a keen quizzer and enjoys making trips to North Yorkshire to visit family.
Shannen achieved a 2:1 in Law (LLB) and Criminal Justice at Liverpool John Moore’s University, where she also went on to complete the Legal Practice Course, graduating in 2017 with a Commendation.
Following a background in Civil Litigation, Shannen joined Irvings Law in 2018 as Trainee Solicitor and qualified as a Solicitor in 2020. Currently she runs a case load of Personal Injury claims and specialises in Data Protection law and group actions.
Outside of work Shannen enjoys walking her dog on the beach, travelling and socialising with her friends.
Hollie graduated from the University of Manchester with a 2:1 in Law in 2018. She is currently studying for her Legal Practice Course and Masters at the University of Law in Chester.
Hollie joined Irvings in 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor, having worked in Clinical Negligence previously. She now runs a case load of Data Breach claims and also assists solicitors in the Clinical Negligence team.
Outside of work, Hollie enjoys going to the theatre to see her favourite musicals, baking for her friends and family and walking her dog.
Joe studied his LLB at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2019. He then went on to study his LPC/LLM at the University of Law in Liverpool, graduating in 2020 with a distinction. Joe joined Irvings in August 2020 and has been assisting on the group litigation claims in the Data Breach Department. He is hoping to continue to expand his knowledge in the area of data protection, whilst also hoping to establish and develop his own caseload.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing football, running and going to see live music.
